This year's Saturdayday Event will be a 4Player Match Play Event on EM & Solid State machines from the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s. Modern DMD and LCD games from the 90s, 2000s, and 2010s.
Saturday Main Event Match Play
Every round, 4player groups will play two games. The first round groups will be randomly generated by Matchplay.events Software.
All additional rounds, the software will be assign new 4player group matches based on swiss format. Position assigned by software.
Players of similar wins will be grouped together.
Players will start the event ranked by IFPA World Rankings.
Players will be allowed to join late if spots are available. Players will earn zero points for any missed rounds.
There will be six hours of qualification. Expect at least three rounds for a minimum of 12 TGP.
No game will be allowed to start in the final 15 minutes of the qualifying period .
Who Qualifies For The Saturday Match Play Event Playoffs?
All players in the event qualify for "A", "B" or "C" Playoffs.
After qualification period, the top third (Max 16) players with the highest point totals qualify for the Event "A" Playoffs. Ties for any spot(s) in the playoff will be decided by the algorithm used by matchplay.events software. Players that do not make "A" Playoffs will be placed in "B" or "C" Playoffs based on qualifying seed. "B" & "C" Playoff format will be set at the show. Expect a Match Play style Playoff for "B" & "C".
Each game, players will play in a 4Player Match on one machine. Players that finish 2nd, 3rd and/or 4th in a match will earn a strike. The first round will be grouped based on "slaughter" concept. The top seeds will play the bottom seeds. Top Seed will have choice of game or position.

Beginning in the 2nd round, the software will assign players with similar strikes together. A player is eliminated when he/she earns 3 strikes. Playoffs worth 14 TGP per IFPA TGP Guide.
Before each game, the Top Seeded player in the group will select game or position.
Each subsequent seeded player will then select from the available positions.
A player may not select the same game twice during the playoffs. A player may not select game already chosen in that round.
